Materials Preview

For a better idea of my approach, here are screen shots of the weekly materials your child would be receiving from me during the lessons.

All materials have been created from scratch by myself.

The lesson would usually start with a short reading passage, to strengthen your child's  reading fluency, ability in recognizing words and to increase his/her vocabulary.

Every week, 6 words would be introduced based on a theme. Your child will get the opportunity to practise the words on the writing lines, to familiarize with the words, as well as to improve penmanship. 4 words would then be chosen from this list as spelling words for the next lesson.

A simple revision will then proceed. Pictures are provided to help your child associate  the words to the objects faster, as well as to prepare your child for the vocabulary section in primary 1 examination papers.

Every week, either grammar, sentence construction or comprehension skills will be covered.

Math lesson will then commence after the English lesson. For starters, basic counting and spelling of number words will be covered.

Basic math concepts will also be taught using hands-on activities before progressing to worksheets as such.

Depending on the concept, there might be speed tests to reinforce what your child has learnt to achieve accuracy or two concepts might be taught in a particular lesson.
